Cosmic Closet Cleanout

“There is no beauty in the finest cloth if it makes hunger and unhappiness.” -Mahatma Gandhi

a couple of months ago I made a decision to clean out my closet & try to pare down my wardrobe. this overhaul was way past due for many reasons. these past couple of years have been some of the most eventful of my adult life- from pregnancy, birth, motherhood, leaving my job, moving from San Diego to Joshua Tree.  as Prairie turned one I suddenly found myself ready to ditch my sweats and explore fashion again, but so much has changed for me both mentally and physically. I needed a fresh start.

I began this quest to find my style. I want my wardrobe to reflect the woman I want to be- one who chooses quality over quantity, and timeless over trendy. ideologically, I also want to try to avoid the temptations of fast fashion and choose ethically made items. I’ve been documenting the progress as a series of #cosmicclosetcleanup outfit posts on my instagram account but want to start sharing here too.

I want to start making this a regular feature here on my blog & would love love love your input and advice!

here’s a little catchup on my new wardrobe thus far:
